Another difficult run

Why?
That's what I keep asking myself. Why has this week been more difficult than others?

Sure, I have my theories.
1. My body is still recovering from that bad virus that has gotten everyone I know.
2. Not enough REGULAR sleep. It makes a difference WHEN you get your sleep.
3. No breakfast. I've been running on empty this week, because that's what I USED to do. If only my brain could keep up with the changes of my body.

I ran Westville, backwards, down Pointed Rocks, up Paymaster to American River and home.

It's a beautiful day. The sun shines warm on the pavement. (Now that last sentence reminded me of the DUI movie we all watched in high school..."the blood runs red on the pavement!")
I think that's how it went??

I did something on my run today that I don't normally do. I switched playlists on my ipod. I don't like to do that because it breaks concentration and stride.
hmm
Aint nothin gonna breaka my stride...nobody gonna slow me down, oh no...I got to keep on movin...

I have a tendency to play the same songs over and over until I just can't stand them anymore! SWITCH Kathy- You've got hundreds on songs for Pete's sake!!!

Halfway down Pointed Rocks I started thinking about my ipod. I am soooo thankful to have it. I never worry about dropping it or the music skipping. I don't have to hold onto anything, my hands are free. I can literally listen to anything I want. It's all there. And the sound is quality!

I remember last year. I had to carry that huge, bulky round CD player. It skipped and stopped all the time.
Now Apple has out the ipod shuffle. For running, I think it would be great. Very compact and as long as you fill it with up tempo music- it doesn't matter what the mix is.
Affordable too.
But I like my blue mini. It's a good size and still supports all kinds of applications.
