Shocked for Six

Hey that sounds like it would make a great name for a band, huh?

Actually I have a very good reason for titling this post that way. Here's why...

It starts with the weather. What the heck happened? We went from high 70's to low 50's! I'm such a wimp! It's freakin cold! Don't let that sun shiny day fool you...

I knew if I ran outside, my fingers would stay frozen for more than half the run and my nose would run longer than that! Phewy!
Besides, my self imposed training schedule says "Work Out Room"

So I hoped on the treadmill and left the door open so I at least can look outside.

After half a mile at 5mph (12 min. mile pace)...I felt like kicking it up a notch. With my nano in my left hand, I touched the up arrow button on the machine. All of a sudden something sparked and the treadmill died! Zip, zero...nada!
I looked down at my ipod to make sure it wasn't fried. Dang! Wouldn't that just suck! I've already killed one ipod...I didn't need to go killing another one.

Thankfully the nano was fine.
So was the treadmill.
I hit the big red START button and all was well again. However it did wipe out what I had already done...and it made me stop for a few seconds. How rude!
I set it on 6mph (10 minute mile) and just left it alone. After 3 miles, I didn't feel very at all tired. I was careful not to drag my feet because everytime I touched the metal bars, I got shocked. Hmm...must be a lot of electricity in the air today.

I ended up doing a nice 6 mile (1 hour) run.

At one point, while I was gazing out the window, a security truck pulled up and pointed to my open door. I wondered if he was going to come up and tell me that I can't leave the door open like that, but he didn't. Good. You'd think they can at least point one of the treadmills toward the big glass window...but the tv is a much better idea. Right. Hear my sarcasm?
I need something real to look at. Right now it's just the tv or that horrible old olive green 70's painting. Wretched!
